Hello! G'day! Oie!

We support children to think deeply, imagine boldly, and express themselves through storytelling.

Why the name Saci?

A little mischief can spark a lot of imagination! Our name was chosen by a group of multi-cultural children who knew who the cheeky one-legged trickster of Brazilian folklore, Saci Pererê was.

He misplace socks, keys, phones and toys, braids dog's tail, eats the rest of the ice cream and anything else that makes a mess. He appears in the wind, a little tornado and leaves as quickly as he arrived. Children of all ages blame Saci for the mess around the house

So, if children across Australia start to say “Saci did it!”, well, maybe they came to our course or read our stories. Saci has very cool friends that we'll introduce slowly through our bedtime stories.

Saci is our hero of hilarity, and through him, we bring fun, creativity, and a touch of chaos to every story, every kit, and every child who joins our adventure.

How we were born

It all began in that "magical", chaotic time between sunset and bedtime—when little ones are full of energy and parents are running on empty. Our four-year-old didn’t want to sleep. He wanted to take the moon out of the sky so the night would never come and he could play all the time.

His mother asked why? then how? and then what? The result? His frustration and desperation was turned into inspiration. Working together as a writer and illustrator duo, The Boy Who Didn’t Like the Night, was born.

From that first story, Saci Books was born to bring playful, screen-free, imaginative experiences to kids everywhere. Because we believe that the best stories start with a little curiosity, a touch of mischief, and a spark of creativity.
