Who will present the workshop?
Maíra will be presenting the incursions within the Sydney Metropolitan area.
She created the methodology and Saci Books. She's a bestselling author and illustrator. Her charisma is contagious and she inspires children as she guides them.
what's the methodology used?
The methodology was created mixing creative writing, improvisation techniques from theater and drama, graphic design, design thinking and dare we say, project management. It's an unique opportunity to help students explore the process of creating a story and learning how it translates into a book.
how does it relate to the australian curriculum?
Our incursions are thoughtfully designed to support the Australian Curriculum's learning areas and general capabilities. Design & Technology, Visual Arts, Creative and Critical Thinking, English and Literacy are intertwined in one incursion content from Foundation to Year 10.
This hands-on 2D creative practice uses visual art process and materials to develop their skills in visual conventions by observing, reflecting and responding to a variety of visual prompts. Some may engage in abstract thinking and visuals. They learn to share, present, give and receive constructive feedback.
Students will understand the process of creating a book from beginning to end, learning graphical representation techniques including how to transfer their ideas to digital tools.
